How we use voice AI
Pronunciation, made clearer.
Cantonese has six tones, and a wrong tone changes the word: 晨 san4 is “morning”, 身 san1 is “body”. CantoGo uses voice AI to let you hear every line and to check how you said it.

Every word, phrase and conversation line is voiced by a natural-sounding AI voice from ElevenLabs. The clips are made ahead of time and built into the app, so they play straight away.
Speech recognition that listens
When you say a line, your recording goes to our server, where ElevenLabs speech recognition writes down what it heard in Cantonese. If it's unavailable, Microsoft Azure Speech steps in.
Scoring built for Cantonese
Our own scoring then turns what you said into Jyutping and checks it against the line, sound by sound and tone by tone. That's how each character ends up green, amber or red.
